During our annual meeting each year, we present an overview and annual report on the state of the association and neighborhood. Board members for 2023-24 will be elected. Our meeting will again be virtual this year.
When: 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2023
Where: We’ll be meeting over Zoom. Log into https://us06web.zoom.us/j/87048121014?pwd=MW1xb1YrZE1XRUdIbXRRZmd2MmEvdz09 on October 4 to join the meeting.
This is the meeting where we will go over the board’s initiatives and accomplishments of the past year. It’s also where we’ll be electing board members.

We’re also looking for volunteers to join the Midway Woods Association board …
… and help out with the various projects organized and overseen by the Midway Association. Whether you’ve newly arrived to Midway Woods or are a long-term resident, we’d love to have you consider joining us.
The Midway Woods Association coordinate events such as Midway Mixers, Midway Woods trivia, neighborhood plant swaps, community picnics, neighborhood and creek clean-ups, public meetings, and the Midway Woods Book Club, open to all neighborhood residents. We work to communicate with Dekalb County officials and departments on behalf of the neighborhood and organize opportunities for the larger community to meet with officials, ask questions and air their concerns. We put together a monthly email newsletter with neighborhood news and event info. And with more board members and volunteers, we can do even more.
Our neighborhood is a diverse one and our goal is to have a diverse representation on the board and its committees to ensure all neighbor’s needs and concerns are included and to ensure well-rounded decision making. We need to advocate for our Midway Woods neighborhood, and strive to make this a thriving community. And we try to have fun doing it.
If you’re interested in rolling up your sleeves and getting involved in these or other activities, we’d love to have you! We’ll be taking nominations for board members up to and during our annual meeting on October 4th and putting together a final ballot shortly thereafter. (You can also email us at midwaywoodscommunications@gmaill.com if you are interested in becoming a board member.) Board member terms are for two years.
We have other ways of getting involved other than joining the board!
Once the new board is in place, we’ll be meeting to set goals and an agenda for what we hope to accomplish in 2024, so if you want to make an impact, now is the time.
