The MicroLife Institute, a nonprofit developer specializing in cottage communities (which consist of multiple detached tiny homes built in close proximity and sharing common areas), is in the pre-application stage of applying for a rezoning application to get permission to build a cottage community on two parcels of land in our neighborhood (2883 and 2893 Midway).  These properties would be adjacent to the Spirit and Truth Sanctuary, near where Midway and Columbia meet. The MicroLife Institute is also the developer behind the Clarkston tiny home community the Cottages on Vaughan consisting of 8 tiny homes – https://www.microlifeinstitute.org/cottages

These cottages would offer what the MicroLife Institute calls “an attainable option for middle-income individuals and families.”

The MicroLife Institute is planning on holding a virtual meeting from 4 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 8th to provide more information about the project, answer questions and collect neighborhood opinion on the project.
