PARKS AND NATURE:
Dearborn Park:
Dearborn Park is Midway Woods’ neighborhood park. Located near the intersection of Midway Road and South Candler Street, the park offers paved paths, wooded trails, a creek, basketball courts, playground equipment, and covered picnic tables. Friends of Dearborn Park organizes park beautification and other projects at the park.
Dearborn Area Nature Alliance:
This neighborhood all-volunteer organization gathers every other weekend to work to clear the park of invasive species. This group has a Facebook page where information about their actives and upcoming events is posted.
Shoal Creek
Three branches of the creek run and converge in our neighborhood. Friends of Shoal Creek is a coalition of neighbors based in Decatur, Georgia, interested in protecting the natural and community resources of Shoal Creek, including the wildlife and habitat in the surrounding Shoal Creek watershed.
